Compassionate Specialized Care
Welch Senior Living communities offer specialized assisted living memory care neighborhoods for those living with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. National award-winning Duxbury House At The Village opened in Fall 2020 providing assisted living memory care with a choice of 24 residential suites.
Each homelike Memory Care Household is led by a dedicated Program Director and is designed to promote independence within a comfortable and safe environment. Our compassionate Resident Care Assistants are specially trained in dementia care and provide cues and support as needed to promote an engaging lifestyle.
Personalized Care
Our Memory Care programs follow a flexible structure that turns daily living into therapeutic activities. Programming accommodates personal routines and preferences to minimize stress and maximize joyful moments. Professional, expertly trained staff are available 24-hours a day for supervision and to assist with activities of daily living.
Enriching Environment
In our Memory Care Households, engaging activities and events are designed to promote positive, satisfying experiences and address residents’ individual physical, cognitive, emotional, spiritual, and social needs. With our Alternative Art Program, residents draw great satisfaction from painting in a variety of media.
Residents dine family-style with a unique, presentation-style dining program that encourages independence and dignity. Healthy, hydrating snacks and beverages are available throughout the day to support proper nutrition. We welcome family members to join us for activities and outings.
Experts in Memory Care
Our Memory Care Program leaders have each been with Welch Senior Living for three decades and are experts in planning, developing, and managing memory care programs. They collaborate with executive directors and program directors to establish care protocols and implement specialized memory care staff training programs to achieve high-quality, person-centered care. Our Memory Care Program leaders provide clinical oversight and quality assurance, and are important resources for our staff and for our residents’ families.
Support for the Whole Family
When your loved one moves to one of our Memory Care households, we welcome the whole family. In addition to regular communications regarding your loved one’s care needs, we offer support and education for families adjusting to the realities of a memory loss diagnosis.
